At the beginning of the ep, Ray is trying to get to his locker in the closed ER. The security guard hands him a torch.

A little later Luka and Abby have arrived at somewhere not specified. This seems to be for the dinner Luka was talking about, as Abby is asking about it. Then a waiter-type person appears, mentions something about centrepieces and Hope (who is already there), and something to Abby about it being a big night. She is perplexed. She and Luka go into a different room, which is described as magical, with candles, flowers, an ice sculpture and Hope (who is overexcited), and a flower girl, and realises that this is meant to be her wedding. She is not happy about this, as Luka has evidently neglected to tell her. Abby storms out, causing breakage of ice sculpture in the process. Flower girl is upset. End teaser.

Abby leaves the room with Luka following her, explaining that he knew that all the planning was freaking her out, and this way makes in easier (like removing a plaster quickly). She is very unconvinced. Quite a bit later on, Hope tries to give Abby a bouquet, it seems she is having second thoughts. Abby says she is not ready. Neela (who seems to be bridesmaid or maid of honour of some sort) says she is. There is a little more hesitation before Abby is supposed to walk up the aisle, but a (literal) push from Hope gets her to go and join Luka. Joe is there, but being held by random babysitter.

Anyway, Abby and Luka's wedding ceremony appears to be being conducted by a Rabbi. He says that the two of them have said they don't want all the 'normal rituals', so he'll get straight to the point. In the process he also calls Abby Abigail - she corrects him. The two of them haven't picked any readings or anything, but Neela volunteers a Punjabi one. The whole scene is very comical. The Rabbi says it's time for the vows, Abby says no vows (ie she wants to get the whole thing done as quickly as possible), but Luka has something prepared. It's very moving (for the audience/congregation/whoever). He says he will love and honour her for the rest of his life. Abby says that Luka 'had time to practise'. Then it's Abby's turn and it seems she is less prepared. She starts by saying she loves him. She rambles on for a while, quotes a poem, and finishes by saying that there's only 'one of us' now, meaning the three of them. They exchange rings. Luka gets to smash a glass before he kisses Abby at the end of the ceremony.

The title of the next set of sides is “I Don't.” Personal thought: after reading it all, I’m pondering that this episode is in fact #21, and “Sea Change” is #22.

In the teaser, Ray is approaching the ER in a suit and tie and the place is oddly quiet. He encounters a security guard. Ray knows the ER is closed but left something in his locker. The guard gives him a flashlight and he enters – the place is being remodeled.

Still in the teaser, Abby and Luka arrive at what seems to be the banquet mentioned in #20. A server goes by and alerts Luka that Hope (Dr. Bobeck) needs to talk to him about the centerpieces, and then tells Abby that it is a big night. They enter a room with candles, an ice sculpture of a swan – and Hope is there. Luka thinks Abby has realized what is going on, and asks her what she thinks. It finally dawns on Abby what is going on – and Hope confirms it. Luka has planned their wedding.

Abby is not happy about this and says so. She rushes out, causing the ice sculpture of the swan to shatter, as Luka calls after her. The teaser ends.

As Act I opens, Luka has caught up with Abby. He tells her to the effect that the planning for the wedding was stressing her out so badly that he planned this so that the stress would be over in a moment. She notes the non-romantic notion of his metaphor – “ripping a band-aid off a wound” but he counters that they both want this.

Toward the end of Act II, we have 3 more pages of spoilers. It is time for the wedding – Hope gives Abby a bouquet but Abby is still protesting to Hope that she is not ready. Neela tells Abby to let herself have this moment.

The procession begins – a flower girl (daughter of the caterer), Neela, and then, after a bit of a wait, Abby – who is pushed by Hope. But then she gathers herself together, walks down the isle looking at the crowd, towards Luka.

At the “alter” is Luka and .. a rabbi who has to refer to his notes, and then is corrected by Abby when he calls her “Abigail” that she is called “Abby.” But the Rabbi understands that the couple does not have “patience for the ritual” He starts with the bar mitzvah (today you become a man) but stops himself and gets to the pages of the marriage ritual. He skips the standards words talking about what a marriage is with “yadada, yadada.”

The rabbi asks for a reading and Luka says that the rabbi should go ahead. The rabbi says, oh, readings are nice. So Neela offers one in Punjabi that talks about love and faith, and is kind of a blessing – except that we don’t understand the words.

Next the rabbi asks if any jilted lovers want to object to the marriage, but Abby asks him to move on. The rabbi wants to have some vows made and Abby says, no, just get to the pronouncement. But Luka takes her hand and improvises, asking Abby to be his wife, that they have help each other when needed, and will work together to raise their son, and that he chooses Abby to love and honor the rest of his life. The crowd reacts – Hope cries, Crenshaw looks at Jane, and Larry (the trainer from an earlier episode) looks at Sam.

Abby objects that he had time to practice his vows, and turns to Neela to repeat the point. The rabbi calls upon Abigail to respond, and again Abby has to correct him. But she hesitatingly says, “first of all, uh, I … love you. I do.” She continues that they’ve been through hard times, and if hard times come again, which she hopes they will not, that they will get through those too.

Abby remembers a poem how she carries his heart in her heart, and while sure that she is messing it up, says that it ends with “this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart, I carry you heart, I carry it in my heart.” She concludes that there is one of them now, but actually the three of then, and to take her as she is, and she’ll take Luka the way he is, and to promise to love each other, struggle together and persevere.

Everyone is touched: Pratt and Neela, Hope and Morris, Gates and Ray look at Neela who is oblivious to the two. Abby and Luka exchange rings. The rabbi provides the glass rolled in a napkin, pronounces them husband and wife, and tells Luka to crush the glass and kiss the girl. He does. End of Act II. We don’t have anything past this point, and half the episode to go.

04/05 - Episode 13.22 - I Don't: It seems something huge happened in the ER as it is shut down until further notice. There is a security guard outside so no one gets in. There are no ambulances. No nothing. Inside, there are a few work lights here and there, some floor tiles are removed, it's dark. Abby and Kovac are preparing for the big day. Unknown to Abby, Kovac enlisted Hope's help to prepare everything. Hope is doing a good job as it is lovely, almost magical. Abby is not happy at how things are turning out as she didn't want someone else plan her wedding and surely not something like Hope is preparing. Abby is really nervous and doesn't seem to want to be happy on her wedding day. Abby will walk down the aisle but the ceremony will be short and not sweet. Neela, Pratt, Morris, Gates, and Ray also appear.

VISNJIC REVEALS ER WEDDING
ER star GORAN VISNJIC let it slip that his TV doctor, Luka Kovac, will wed his sweetheart on the show, during an appearance on TV last night (12Apr07). The Croatian actor was being quizzed on late-night chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live when he revealed the truth about the ongoing will-they-won't-they plot between his character and another series regular, played by Maura Tierney. Visnjic said, "We've actually done that episode and there is a wedding. It's coming up... I think I can say that. "For the first half of the episode you're not sure what's going to be happening but we end up actually getting married, it's a cute episode... Everybody knows." Visnjic, who has been an ER castmember for the past eight years plans to leave the drama after shooting a couple of episodes for the new season. But he insists he'll always have fond memories of his time on ER - because the producers gave him his big break when he was just a foreign actor struggling with his dialogue. He adds, "My English was so God damn bad that when I came on the show they gave me a dialogue coach for four years... It was really helpful for me."

"I Don'T"
LOVE IS IN THE AIR-- The entire ER is surprised when they arrive for the department dinner and find out that surprise nuptials are about to happen. Ray (Shane West) can't seem to handle seeing Neela (Parminder Nagra) and Gates (John Stamos) together. The romantic atmosphere seems to bring everyone together. Goran Visjnic, Maura Tierney, Mekhi Phifer, Linda Cardellini and Scott Grimes also star.
