Kovac comes over to Abby who is reading a list of baby names. She makes comments to him about the names Laurentis and Ivanis, saying they sound as if they ran away from a royal court.

Kovac insists that Laurentis is his fatherТs name and Abby remarks that they canТt blame him for that fact.

Kovac is surprised that Weaver is working and she says she isnТt, sheТs waiting on Clemente.

Kovac is talking to Clemente, who has been shot and his former mistress has been as well. Kovac calls Clemente УVicФ and tells him to go home because he feels it is too soon for Clemente to be back at work.

A trauma comes in, a fat kid in a band uniform. Kovac follows Pratt and the EMTs to get the bullet on the patient. Jose Morales is his name and he plays the flute. He is the victim of a hit and run.

After a work up where it seems Abby, Sam and Pratt are all involved, Kovac says to call surgery for a consult and to do an ultrasound.

The rest of the sides deal with Clemente's troubles with the husband of his mistress, Carter's Sudanese plotline and Neela and Pratt having a disagreement about her surgical abilities. The surgical Chief resident is in this one, instead of Dubenko and on a humourus side note, Morris is bitten by a young patient...and over reacts.

Work dates for "Darfur":
11/30 - 12/2 and 1/4. Those workdates and LA location are only for the County parts of the episode. Noah's stuff will be filmed separately. He's on for four episodes.

(Ep 14 will shoot in early January.)

Bobby, the husband of Clemente's ex, is a guest lead for two episodes. Presumably all the drama with the husband's arrival and Jodi's shooting takes place in ep 14.

Carter is working with a physician who's dedicated to his work in a Sudan refugee camp, but is suffering from a chronic, maybe fatal disease. He refuses to leave to seek the treatment he needs. He'll be in all four Africa episodes, and they're looking for a name actor within a wide age range.

They're shooting out of sequence. I mentioned that in an earlier post, but it may not have been noticed.

First they're doing ep. 13 (James Woods' episode). Then there's the L.A. stuff (the County part of the "Darfur" episode) which will take only a few days, with Noah's stuff to be shot separately at other dates. They're shooting 14 (Clemente's ep.) in early January. I'll post another topic so it's a little clearer.

Looking at the character description, I'm guessing that Carter's been called in from the Congo (presumably) to help out with the refugee camp in Darfur after this doctor becomes less able to handle things...They're wanting someone to play an African, speaking with either a British or African accent, anywhere from mid thirties to nearly sixty years old. Do we want to venture any guesses?

12/09 - Episode 12.13 - Darfur [Airing in February]: This episode marks the return of Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle signed a contract to appear in about four episodes this season) who is still practicing medicine in Africa. It seems that we will see him in Africa as he treats a wife who has been raped (doesn't seem to be by her husband). In Chicago, Clemente is at the Police Station where he is interrogated by officers. It seems that they think he shot a woman. The ER staff is concerned about Clemente since even if he is an excellent doctor, he is also a loose cannon. When Clemente is back in the hospital, Kovac doesn't want to let him work. A 14-year-old girl is brought in after she was hit by a car. Darnell, Albright, Neela, Frank, Abby, Weaver, Morris, Sam, Pratt, Marquez, and Malik also appear.
